Food Science and Human Nutrition Excellence Fund

The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition is able to fulfill its commitment to the land grant mission, in part, with gifts to the FSHN Excellence Fund. This general fund is used to support curriculum enhancement, student professional development, faculty and staff, research, physical infrastructure and equipment, and more.

The FSHN Undergraduate Scholarship fund assists in attracting the best and brightest undergraduate students to the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, providing them with rich experiences, and preparing them for success after graduation.

Gifts in support of the FSHN Student Field Trips create opportunities for a value-added support for student field trips for FSHN students.

Food Science Pilot Processing Plant Fund

The Food Science Pilot Processing Plant offers students hands-on experiences operating and maintaining pilot-scale processing equipment. Student learning assistants and interns participate in projects with peers, top researchers, and external partners. The pilot plant is a key component of the Illinois Sustainable Food Project, processing grains and produce grown on campus to serve in University Dining Halls. This fund provides support for student employees and facility and equipment maintenance.
