Claire Bollinger-Savage graduated from Illinois in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition, with a concentration in food science. Bollinger interned with two amazing companies. The first was a family owned deli-meat company, called Deli Star Inc. and the second was at an international cheese and yogurt company called Schreiber Foods. Each internship helped solidify what kind of role she wanted to pursue after college. It was vital that she got to work for both small and large companies, both of which produced different food categories. A
fter the second summer internship, Bollinger realized that food safety was her passion, but she knew that she wanted to be in the factory setting and make a direct impact on product quality. Additionally, she also realized that she enjoyed traveling with each internship and wanted to join a company that allowed her to move around to new places.
After college, she joined Nestlé’s Factory Management Development Program in the quality assurance stream. She has spent the last two years in the factory setting. She has even gotten to live in three different states already. Each day, she makes decisions that impact food safety. She has had the joy of producing ice cream, mac and cheese and now chocolate chips.
