Please follow the steps below to be added to a wait list for a FSHN course.
- Wait lists for FSHN classes will be opened at 8:00 a.m. one week before the start of classes. At that time, if you have been unable to register for a class because it is full, please send an e-mail message to fshn-general@ad.uiuc.edu. Your e-mail message must originate from your UIUC e-mail account (student@uiuc.edu). Messages from other e-mail accounts (yahoo, gmail, etc.) will be automatically filtered to the junk folder in fshngeneral. You will not be added to a wait list if you send your request from any account other than your UIUC account.
- The subject line of your message must say “Wait list for FSHN XXX” Do not include the quotation marks in your subject line and replace the three X’s with the number of the course you are interested in, followed by the section title if appropriate. (Example: Wait list for FSHN 499, Business Etiquette or Wait list for FSHN 101)
- Include in your message your full name, UIN, e-mail address, class (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or grad student) and your major.
- Only one course request will be allowed per e-mail message. An autoreply will be sent to all correctly submitted requests for spots on our wait lists. If you do not receive an autoreply, the subject line of your request is not correct. Please send a corrected message.
- When you receive the autoreply, please do not e-mail again or reply to the message.
- Incorrectly-submitted messages, or messages received before the start date published above, will be discarded, unanswered and unacknowledged.
- According to the policy of our department, the ONLY requests that we will honor are those e-mailed to fshn-general@ad.uiuc.edu. All other forms of communication (in person, via telephone, e-mail to instructors or staff, etc.) for a spot on a wait list will not be honored.
- If you have successfully added your name to the wait list for FSHN 101 or FSHN 120, begin attending class as soon as the semester begins so you do not fall behind on the material. For all other wait lists, do not attend class until you have successfully added the class to your schedule.
- If a seat becomes available to you, you will receive an e-mail message from fshn-general@ad.uiuc.edu with specific instructions about adding the class to your schedule.
- Wait lists will be maintained until the official deadline to add classes has passed. After the deadline passes, all students still on the wait list will receive an e-mail notification that they have been unsuccessful in getting a seat in the class.
- If at any time after you have added your name to the wait list you decide you no longer desire a seat in the class, please send a message to fshn-general@ad.uiuc.edu, asking that your name be removed.
- We will no longer provide information regarding your position on the wait list. Additional messages received from you once you have received the notification that you were successfully added to the wait list will be discarded, unanswered and unacknowledged.
