Awards
She received various teaching awards at the University of Washington. In 1997, she was awarded the IFT William V. Cruess award for excellence in teaching food science and technology. She was elected an IFT Fellow in 2000, is currently 2007-2008 Chair of the Council of Food Science Administrators.
Biographical Sketch
Dr. Faye Dong commenced duties as Professor and Department Head, Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, in August 2002. She was formerly a Professor in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Dong has been very active in teaching and learning, both at the university level and in professional organizations. In 1997, she was one of the founding members of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Education Division.
