Biographical Sketch

Teaching/Outreach: Program Coordinator, Advising Coordinator, and Internship Coordinator for hospitality management program; Teach Introduction to the Hospitality Industry, Food Service Sanitation, Purchasing for the Hospitality Industry, Hospitality Management: Skills and Applications, and Business Etiquette; IDPH Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification Instructor; Business Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant Ms. Beth Reutter, Teaching Associate, attended Southeast Missouri State University where she received a B.S. in Vocational Home Economics Education and a B.S. in General Home Economics with a minor in Business Administration in 1976. She taught high school home economics in O’Fallon, Missouri, for two years, then another six years in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Ms. Reutter came to the University of Illinois where she completed an Ed.M. in Vocational and Technical Education with an emphasis in Hospitality Management Education in 1988, and is currently all but dissertation in completing an Ed.D. in Human Resource Education. She taught Hospitality Management at Eastern Illinois University for two years before joining the Hospitality Management program at UIUC in 1990.
