Program Timeline
Fall Semester: FSHN 590 Dietetic Internship I (4 hours)
Spring Semester: FSHN 591 Dietetic Internship II (6 hours)
All supervised practice hours and dietetic internship requirements are met by completing the above dietetic internship courses. Students may not enroll in the above courses until all other coursework for their graduate degree program is complete and they have completed most of the experimental requirements for their thesis. The student may choose to defend a thesis before or after the internship, but it is expected that very little experimental work will be performed after the internship is completed. When a student deposits a thesis, he or she is no longer eligible to register for courses. It is imperative, therefore, that interns complete both Dietetic Internship courses before depositing a thesis. Contact the Dietetic Internship Director if you have questions about this requirement.
Including the internship component, most MS students will be able to complete their graduate program in 2.5-3 years. Most PhD students will be able to complete their program in 4.5-5 years.
Each graduate degree program has different requirements and expectations. Please consult the UIUC Courses, Schedules, and Requirements page and your own research advisor about the specific requirements for your degree program
