Graduate Dietetic Internship Admission Requirements

- Applicants are required to provide a Verification
Statement from an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and
must have earned at least a bachelor’s degree from regionally
accredited school.
- Applicants must already be enrolled
in a thesis-based graduate program at the University of Illinois. For

- Applicants must submit a standard ADA Dietetic Internship Application Form and all associated fees by the ADA deadline.
- A separate and complete application for computer matching must be sent to D&D Digital Systems by the computer match deadline on February 15, 2008.
- Applicants must submit a Degree Progress Form
signed by their graduate advisor to verify they will have completed all
graduate course requirements and a major portion of the thesis work
prior to starting to the dietetic internship program.
- Applicants
must submit the following materials directly to the Dietetic Internship
Director. Application materials must be postmarked on or before the
third Friday in February (February 15, 2008)
- Cover letter
- Verification Statement from an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD)
- Copy of current immunization record
- 1 set of official transcripts
- 3 letters of reference (use the ADA reference form)
- At least 1 letter must come from an employer or academic advisor who has worked closely with the student
- At least 1 letter must come from a professor or instructor
- In
order to ensure confidentiality, letters of recommendation must be sent
directly to the Dietetic Internship Director from the
employer/instructor’s office. Alternatively, letters may be sealed in
an envelope and signed across the envelope flap by the
employer/instructor and then submitted with the student’s other
application materials
