Located on the third floor of Bevier Hall, the Food Labs are used for introductory courses for Dietetics, Food Science, and Hospitality Management students as well as advanced level courses for Food Science students in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
The labs feature video cameras over the demonstration area that project the task being demonstrated onto the flat screens throughout the room, making it easier for students to observe.
The Food Labs were renovated in summer 2008 to update facilities, increase capacity of lab courses, and improve food safety aspects of the labs. They had not been updated since the building was erected in the 1950s. There is also an ADA compliant accessible work station in the labs.
Renovation was made possible by Doris Kelley Christopher, founder of the Pampered Chef. The labs are supplied with utensils and cooking equipment from Pampered Chef. For more information, please contact Ms. Jill Craft.
