5. Consider joining ADA Membership

ADA membership allows you to access many useful information and resources, such as evidence analysis library and Journal of American Dietetic Association. Annual fee for student membership is $49 and it needs to renewed every year.

You need to record your 1) RD mentor meeting and 2) dietetic-related work experience.

9. Set up visits to internships or plan on going Dietetic Internship Open Houses

Most dietetic internship selections are done through computer matching system. Your selections and rankings of dietetic internships can be changed by 11:59PM central time on February 15th for April match or September 25th for November match. (If dates listed falls on Sunday or holiday, these will vary. Check DPD website for exact date)

  • Let them know you will be sending a letter of acceptance within the next week.
  • Ask if there are any books you need to purchase or if there is anything you can be doing over the summer to prepare for the internship.
  • See if there are any specific areas they suggest to look for housing.
